I am at a loss. I have numerous emails about protecting my parish tonight in the wake of Roe v Wade being overturned. A night of rage against a Church that has peacefully demonstrated for 50 years to protect those without a voice. We have had worse threats over the ages, but this one really has me stumped. We have peacefully protested for all this time and now there is a call for a Night of Rage against us. My only explanation is that the devil is worried, but then I am worried as to what the devil is worried about as we are working to reestablish ourselves after COVID. We are starting a Eucharistic Renewal to help reeducate the world about the amazing gift of Eucharist. I see this time as extremely challenging, maybe the devil sees that the issues of our time as they are causing division, will not last. People will learn that gender is not a choice but a gift from God.
Maybe the devil is seeing that civil unions can be whatever society wants them to be, but marriage is sacred between a man and woman as they strive to build the church as co-creators with our God. Maybe, people are starting to see the emptiness in recreational sex and how exponentially better sex between two people committed to each other, open to God and the life God gives us really is.
Our faith and the precepts we live lead to such a blessed and holy life where even in the down times and difficult times we can find the hand of God leading us. As we live to sanctify the world, God is with us and strengthening us.
We have to remain peaceful and God-focused. Violence only comes from fear, and peace comes through love. This is our challenge to love those that want to hurt us and show them the gift of faith that we have.
Pray for peace! Respect Life in all its forms, and live the Gospel.
Thank you SCOTUS for hearing the voice of God!
